Daughter is thrilled with the newest American Girl doll. What thrills her most is that "Julie" is the newest member of their historical collection -- from 1974. 1974?!!! I didn't realize that being 13 then would make me historic now. Daughter thinks it's very funny. Personally, I don't get the joke.

That's wonderful! We have a museum of Welsh life nearby and it has houses throughout the ages and I can go into the latest one and say, 'Oh, we had one of those! And I used to love that and ...'

How hilarious! I must see the doll to make sure it's authentic - (I was in college by that time).
Kate had Samantha and Felicity and managed to keep them in lovely condition. I have them and all the accoutrements packed up for a granddaughter some day . . . I suppose they'll have a "historical" 2001 doll by that time!
